RECENTLY RESTORED! 15” Victorian Lap Desk
with stately birdseye maple and Sterling silver!

Mesmerizing birdseye maple pairs perfectly with gilt-accented burgundy leather and a rosewood interior in this stately Victorian lap desk! This early 20^th Century delight features all original components, including two crystal ink bottles and a rosewood quill rest! Featuring the nameplate of its original owner, this lovely piece is edged in Sterling silver, giving it a classic, timeless look!

This box was made in the early 20^th Century. It belonged to Mary Margaret Leach (1913-2001) and was restored in 1999 by replacing silver trim and re-leathering the inside top, among other touchups. The locking mechanism works well. The trim tests for Sterling silver, the wood is likely yew burl veneer, rosewood, and mahogany.

Condition:

This piece is in EXCELLENT condition! It was fully restored recently, and presents amazingly! The piece has a few nicks to the edges, including a missing piece of wood on the bottom edge that is barely visible.

When new packaging is required for the order, I use biodegradable, starch-based packing peanuts and biodegradable polymailers, which I’ve found to be just as adequate as Styrofoam and plastic.

Returns:

I accept a no-questions-asked money back return policy granted the request is made up to 30 days after the item arrives. I refund only the purchase price of the item and, if free return shipping is offered on the listing, the full return shipping. It is your responsibility to return the item to me in the same condition it was sent to you. If the item is returned in an inferior condition as to how it was sent, a full return might not be granted. New items that come back in an inferior condition or are removed from their original packaging will not be granted a full refund.
